Joburg inner city – view from the Carlton Centre

I’m quite excited to be attending my first media trip this weekend. Even more exciting is that its hosted by the lovely folks at the Joburg City Tourism Association (JCTA). I’m so happy to the Joburg inner city coming into its own as a tourism destination on its own right. The JCTA will even be hosting  the Joburg City Festival in August (25 – 31 August 2013).

If you’re a reader here and follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that I’m passionate about sharing my love for Jozi. Joburg’s inner city has so much to offer in terms of urban exploration, art, culture, music, food and more.

I’ve been on numerous inner city walks with Past Experiences inner city tours and more recently, with Gerald Garner of Joburg Places. I highly recommend taking one of their tours, even as a local. An informed and passionate guide will bring the stories of the city to life and take you back in time.

The JCTA Weekend in the City itinerary is exciting to stay the least. I’ll be staying at the 4* Reef Hotel, be introduced to some of Jozi’s best kept secrets such as its sexy rooftops, underground bars, funky urban markets, exclusive venues and new museums. I can’t wait! Here’s a teaser in the meantime…

Been to the Joburg inner city recently? Any experiences you’d recommend?
