It’s winter. It’s cold and getting up in the dark sucks. If you’re in the Cape it’s probaby wet too. Snuggling up in front TV with the latest series is way more tempting than getting out. Unless you’re anything like me – relishing any opportunity for adventure and new experiences. Lucky for us adventurers, Avis South Africa are running an exciting winter campaign, encouraging South Africans to get out more this winter.
If you’re on Twitter or Instagram, you could win a R1000 adventure voucher every week until the end of winter. Just tag your outdoor travel and adventure pics with #GetOutMoreSA to get into the weekly draw.
If you book with Avis (rentals, transfers, chauffer services) or buy an Avis vehicle until the end of August, you could win one of three epic adventure packages worth R50 000. Big kudos to Avis for encouraging South Africans to travel more domestically. We really are blessed to live in the most beautiful country!
On an icy cold winter’s morning a few weeks back, Avis treated me and a few lucky other travel media people to a local adventure. We got picked up by Avis Point to Point transfers – I felt like a celebrity in their snazzy new Mercedes E class – and got whisked away to Bill Harrops Original Hot Air Baloon Safaries in the Magaliesberg. It wasn’t my first time ballooning, but the panoramic views of the Magaliesberg and the sunrise were pretty damn epic. Definitely worth getting up at 4am and braving the cold for!
Really, you don’t have to go far away or spend lots of money to have travel experiences. Even if you’re adventuring in your own city, or just go for a day trip out of town, just take the opportunity to see and do something new. You won’t regret it. Not that I need any encouragement to get out more 😉
