My #PerfectHome
January 19, 2015

It’s no secret that I love to travel. In fact, travelling is a large piece of my personality. There is nothing I love more than exploring different cultures, countries and ways of communicating.

When it comes to finding a perfect home, I prefer something that is easy to lock up and go, giving me the freedom to travel as I please. I’m sometimes gone for days, weeks, even months, and so my number one concern is security and easy access.

I’m not a fan of large spaces, gardens and pools – to me that just means maintenance and I’m definitely a low maintenance girl.  Most people spend a long time working towards their perfect home. But I’m the lucky one. I live in the space I love, the only problem is that I don’t own it.  My current flat has a huge rooftop, perfect for entertaining. Now that I have a rooftop space I don’t think I can live without one. It’s so much easier to maintain than a garden. Just fill it with pretty pots of succulents and you’re done!

Almost perfect

I’ve also lived in a big house with a garden, and honestly it’s just too much for me. Though I loved having the space, the upkeep required was just way out of my league. As a little girl, I dreamt about ahouse on the beach, however at this point in my life it’s just not practical. Realistically my dream home is central, (I love urban living), secure, modern, light and airy, and most importantly, easy to lock-up-and go.

I’ve been searching Property 24 lately looking for my perfect inner city Joburg flat.  Most of those that I’ve found are either too small  – a bachelor flat isn’t going to cut it – or need renovation. Having being throught the pain of renovating a house before, it’s something I never want to do again.

Capte Town penthouse

Dream flat cape town

This two bedroom city-centre penthouse is just perfect – on the 8th floor in the hub of the city, spacious, light and airy with a rooftop garden, parking and plenty of entertainment space. I love the oak floors,  modern kitchen and the huge wooden deck!  It’s almost perfect for me.  The only problem it that it’s in Cape Town… Oh, and the price-tag is just a little out of my league.  One can dream right?
